The hosts of The View might face consequences for making highly “vulg@r” remarks about the recent hearings: “The price is too high…”

The latest episode of *The View* took an unexpected turn when the panel discussed a heated exchange between conservative Rep. Nancy Mace and Democratic Rep.

Jasmine Crockett at a recent House hearing.

The argument, which escalated after Mace took offense to Crockett’s use of the colloquial term “chile,” led Mace to challenge Crockett to meet her “outside.”

The incident caught the attention of *The View* hosts, who were quick to interpret Mace’s challenge as an invitation to a physical fight.

The argument occurred during a tense moment in a House committee meeting, where Crockett and Mace were verbally sparring over political issues.

When Crockett used the phrase “chile” (a term often used in Southern vernacular to refer to someone in a casual or affectionate manner),

Mace reacted strongly, believing the term was an insult. Mace’s emotional response included a public challenge to Crockett, saying, “meet me outside.” The outburst quickly became a hot topic of conversation, and *The View* hosts wasted no time weighing in on the situation.

Joy Behar, known for her sharp wit, joked that Mace’s actions resembled the heated exchanges often seen on *The View*. “It sounds like *The View* sometimes,” Behar quipped, referencing the show’s own occasional on-air tensions. Sara Haines added her own perspective, saying, “We have never taken it outside,” playfully acknowledging that the show has had its share of heated moments without resorting to physical confrontation.

The panel’s moderator, Whoopi Goldberg, was quick to chastise Mace for her behavior during the hearing, particularly her focus on issues such as trans athletes while appearing to overlook more pressing matters like the rising cost of groceries. Goldberg noted, “I don’t understand why she’s so concerned about trans athletes and not concerned about the price of groceries.”

Haines further explained that Crockett’s use of the word “chile” was a casual expression common in everyday conversation, adding, “We all knew what it meant.” She pointed out the irony of Mace, a politician who often touts her Christian values, wearing large crosses in her earrings while engaging in such behavior. “Something tells me this is not what Jesus would do in this situation,” Haines remarked, adding a humorous touch to the discussion.

Behar, who has frequently criticized conservative figures on the show, suggested that Mace might simply be trying to stay in the public eye, stating, “Maybe she just wants to be on TV.” Behar even extended an invitation for Mace to appear on *The View* to face the panel directly. Conservative cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin called the situation a “clown show” in American government, criticizing both the behavior of Mace and the overall dysfunction in Washington, D.C.

Legal expert Sunny Hostin added a more critical layer to the discussion, pointing out the racial undertones of the confrontation. She noted that the trope of the “angry Black woman” is often invoked in similar situations, questioning why Mace’s actions weren’t being framed in a comparable way. “Where’s the trope of the angry white woman?” Hostin asked, drawing attention to how gender and race are frequently weaponized in political discourse. “Let us be clear, this was never about qualifications,” Hostin continued, implying that the altercation had little to do with policy and everything to do with personal animus.

Goldberg then shifted the conversation to a more serious issue—trans rights. She expressed frustration over the continued attacks on trans individuals, particularly trans athletes, and questioned why conservative politicians like Mace focus on such a small population. “Less than 1 percent of folks are trans. Why are we lighting this fire?” Goldberg asked, urging Mace to shift her focus to more pressing issues. “Nancy, you can be a hero,” Goldberg added, though Hostin immediately followed up by suggesting that Mace lacked the necessary qualifications to be a hero.

In the wake of the hearing and the subsequent media frenzy, Mace defended her actions, stating on social media that she was not challenging Crockett to a physical fight. “If I wanted a physical fight, you’d know it,” Mace remarked, suggesting that the exchange had been misinterpreted.

This isn’t the first time Mace has clashed with the *The View* panel. In October 2023, Goldberg and Mace engaged in a heated debate about abortion rights, and Haines called Mace a “bullying troll” in response to her stance on transgender issues. As Mace continues to face criticism for her political positions and behavior, it’s clear that tensions between her and the panel are far from over.

With the controversy surrounding Mace’s comments continuing to unfold, *The View* panel remains vocal in its criticism, using the moment to highlight broader issues within American politics, including racial and gender dynamics and the ongoing debate over trans rights.
