According to Baldoni, the meeting was essential for making sure the sex scenes in *It Ends With Us* were handled sensitively and appropriately. 

The director emphasized that the intimacy coordinator—a woman—was key to crafting the scenes from the “female gaze,” explaining that the majority of the film’s fans are women. He believed it was crucial to create an atmosphere that made female audiences feel seen and respected, ensuring that the scenes were portrayed in a way that would resonate with them. 

However, the most shocking aspect of Baldoni’s notes is the inclusion of explicit language used during the meeting. Terms like “orgasm,” “foreplay,” and even more graphic phrases were part of the dialogue, as the intimacy coordinator detailed the necessary elements to ensure the scenes were both realistic and respectful. Baldoni points out that the language came directly from the intimacy coordinator, and he insists that his actions were part of the standard process for intimacy coordination on set, which aims to protect actors and prevent misconduct.

What has added to the drama, however, is that Blake Lively, who plays the lead role of Lily Bloom in the film, allegedly skipped the important meeting with the intimacy coordinator. Baldoni’s legal documents claim that Lively’s absence created a difficult situation for him, as he had to relay the details of the meeting to her personally later on in her penthouse.
