Janelle Brown from Sister Wives moved viewers to tears after revealing what she did with a keepsake from her late son: “It’s the only way I can feel like he’s still here…”

Janelle Brown, star of *Sister Wives*, recently shared an emotional and heartfelt moment with her followers, revealing a special way she’s honoring her late son, Garrison Brown.

Following his tragic death by suicide in March 2024, Janelle, 55, inherited a meaningful item from Garrison — his beloved truck.

On February 3, 2025, she shared a poignant Instagram post detailing her journey with the truck, and how it serves as a constant reminder of her son.

The post began with Janelle recounting her journey from Las Vegas to her new home in North Carolina, where she recently moved to start a new chapter of her life.

“After spending a few days with the kids in Vegas I drove this old truck across the country,” she wrote, accompanied by a video of the dual cab pickup truck with a matching shell on the back.

The truck, which had once belonged to Garrison, holds deep sentimental value for Janelle, and she explained how she came into possession of it.

Garrison, 25, had purchased the truck when he moved to Flagstaff, Arizona, and drove it until February 2022. After that, it was passed on to his brother, Gabriel Brown, who used it until he made the decision to drive a smaller car more suited for life in Las Vegas. With the truck now available, Janelle decided to keep it for herself, explaining, “It’s paid off, and it has more value to me on our new farm than I could get in a trade-in. Plus, it makes me feel connected to my two boys, especially Garrison.”

In addition to the sentimental value the truck holds, Janelle plans to put it to practical use on the 156-acre property she recently purchased in North Carolina, where she plans to launch her passion project, *Taeda Farm*. The flower farm, still in the early stages of development, is a joint effort with her daughter, Maddie Brush (née Brown), and Maddie’s husband, Caleb Brush. Janelle is excited to cultivate the land and start her vision of growing flowers and bringing beauty to the land.

On Taeda Farm’s website, Janelle is described as the “resident dreamer, planner, and future flower whisperer.” While the farm is still in its initial stages of planting and building, she is already actively mapping out the flower fields, ensuring that every petal has a companion plant nearby. “Not a single bloom has sprouted yet, but I’m already picking flowers in my mind and making friends with anyone who’ll listen to my vision,” she shared in her post.

As she embarked on her road trip to North Carolina, Janelle also posted several photos from the journey, showing off her meals along the way, including a slice of pizza and biscuits and gravy. In one of the images, she shared a shot of a Starbucks cup, a small touch that showed how she was keeping herself awake during the long drive. She also included a snapshot of the iconic Buc-ee’s beaver statue outside a location in Amarillo, Texas, capturing the essence of her cross-country road trip.

Her followers resonated with her deep attachment to the truck, with many offering words of understanding and support. “Oh Janelle, this post hits my heart. I still drive my dad’s 2002 Ford Ranger. I never got to say goodbye to him either, I always feel like he’s with me,” one follower commented. Another added, “As someone who has also lost loved ones, I too have kept vehicles. It’s a connection you can’t really explain to those that don’t understand. I get it.”

In addition to this meaningful post, Janelle recently spoke about how she honored Garrison during the first Thanksgiving after his death, showing her ongoing grief and the healing process. She continues to process the devastating loss of her son, but her connection to the truck has given her a way to keep him close.

Janelle’s move to North Carolina was kept a secret from her ex-husband, Kody Brown, 56, which was revealed in the February 2, 2025, episode of *Sister Wives*. Kody admitted that he found out about her relocation when one of their children unintentionally mentioned it to him, revealing that it had never been his intention to know about Janelle’s move beforehand.

As Janelle moves forward in this new phase of her life, her son’s memory continues to guide her, with the truck serving as both a literal and symbolic connection to the past. While her flower farm takes shape, Janelle’s heartfelt tribute to Garrison shows the power of cherished possessions to help heal and honor loved ones lost too soon.
