Sandra Bullock has spoken out about her growing concerns regarding online scammers who are impersonating her on social media. 

The 60-year-old actress, known for her roles in *Miss Congeniality* and *The Blind Side*, issued a public statement on February 3, 2025, 

urging her fans to be cautious of fraudulent accounts and to help protect her family’s safety, 

as well as the safety of innocent people who have been exploited by these scams.

In her rare public comment, Sandra made it clear that she does not have any presence on social media. 

She emphasized that any accounts pretending to be her or anyone associated with her are fake, designed to deceive others for financial gain or to manipulate those around her. 

“My family’s safety, as well as the innocent people being taken advantage of, is my deep concern, and there will be a time when I will comment more, but for now, our focus is helping law enforcement handle this matter,” Sandra said in the statement shared with *People*.

This announcement came after her younger sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado, took to social media over the weekend to expose a disturbing rise in scam accounts. Gesine, 54, revealed that she spends a significant amount of time reporting these fake accounts, which claim to be Sandra, and dealing with disturbing emails and messages sent to her business and personal contacts. These scammers have convinced unsuspecting individuals that they have an online relationship with Sandra, even tricking them into sending money.

“I spend multiple times a day reporting fakes, dealing with weird & scary emails to my BUSINESS and HOME from men who believe that, through one of these many fake ‘me’s,’ they have a relationship with my sister through private messages and off-app sites and have been giving (sometimes) THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to an incredibly famous and successful grown-assed woman,” Gesine wrote on Facebook on February 2. Along with her post, she shared screenshots of several fraudulent accounts, highlighting the severity of the situation.

Despite Gesine’s efforts to report the imposter accounts to Facebook and a third-party security service, the fake profiles have remained active, causing further frustration. She criticized the social media giant’s lack of action, stating, “Surprise! They are all still up!” In her post, Gesine explained how the fraudsters operate, saying these accounts are linked to organized crime rings that also create fake groups where a supposed “Sandra Bullock” posts “official statements” that are, in fact, completely fabricated.

While Gesine took to Facebook to warn her followers, she also offered practical advice on how to deal with these scams. “If you see a fake account, are friended or messaged by one, report and block,” she urged. Gesine also shared that she had been forced to involve law enforcement, noting that the response from officers had been swift and reassuring.

Sandra has remained largely out of the public eye in recent months, especially following the tragic passing of her longtime partner, photographer Bryan Randall, in 2024 after a battle with ALS. Since Bryan’s death, Sandra has been focused on grieving privately and caring for their two children, Louis (14) and Laila (12), while avoiding the media spotlight. She has been especially protective of her family during this difficult time, choosing to live a quiet life away from the scrutiny of the public.

In her statement, Sandra also humorously but firmly clarified her presence online. “This is my only account, and y’all know it’s about baking, cooking, animals, and gardening. I’m a grown-assed middle-aged woman with a life, and I don’t troll around at 54 DMing people,” she quipped, underlining her focus on her personal life and the fact that any account posing as her is indeed a fake.

Gesine further pointed out the disparity in how different platforms handle these issues, noting that Instagram has been much more effective in dealing with similar impersonation cases. “Strangely, Insta handles these things and even informs me when someone creates an account that may be an imposter. But FB? Same company with same tech? Can’t be bothered,” she wrote, expressing her frustration over the situation.

As Sandra and Gesine continue to tackle the issue of online impersonation, their message remains clear: caution is essential when navigating the digital space. Sandra’s plea serves as an important reminder to be vigilant and report suspicious online activity, helping to prevent further exploitation and ensuring the safety of both celebrities and their fans.
