Jenna Bush Hager left her co-host red-faced after revealing what she always does before wearing a bikini for her husband: “I know not everyone does this…”

Jenna Bush Hager, known for her candid personality and willingness to have open conversations,

recently shared an honest and relatable discussion about body image on *The Today Show’s* new *Jenna & Friends* segment.

This time, the conversation revolved around her preference for swimsuits post-childbirth.

Jenna’s openness with her audience has been a hallmark of her tenure at *Today*,

and during a lighthearted yet meaningful chat with *Saturday Night Live* comedian Ego Nwodim, she revealed her thoughts on bikini vs. one-piece swimsuit choices.

The conversation took place as part of a fun new segment called “Best Friends Five,” which Ego introduced for the guest co-hosts of the newly rebranded *Today Show* 4th hour, following Hoda Kotb’s departure.

In this segment, co-hosts engage in debates about popular polls and quirky topics. The question at hand was a playful one: “Do you prefer bikinis or one-piece swimsuits for the beach?” While Ego chose the bikini, Jenna leaned toward the one-piece, explaining that it was more her style, especially after having three children.

In true Jenna fashion, she didn’t hold back and offered a humorous disclaimer about her swimsuit preferences. “I like a one-piece because it covers some areas that have seen some work — and by work, I mean children stretching it,” she quipped, admitting that motherhood had left its mark. However, Jenna made it clear that despite her choice of a one-piece, she still preferred it to have a “sexy-ish” vibe. “But I like it to be sexy-ish,” she added with a smile, giving the conversation a lighthearted tone.

Jenna’s candidness about body changes post-pregnancy resonated with many viewers. She clarified that while she preferred a one-piece for its ability to provide more coverage, it wasn’t about sacrificing style. “I just didn’t want you to think I was rocking a speedo, you know,” she joked. Her openness allowed the audience to see a more personal side of the beloved *Today* anchor, someone who embraces both her body and the natural changes that come with motherhood.

The conversation didn’t just focus on Jenna’s personal swimsuit choices. She also emphasized that everyone should feel confident in whatever they choose to wear. “But of course you should wear a bikini, you’re hot,” Jenna said to Ego, acknowledging that confidence is key when it comes to swimwear. Ego responded with understanding, admitting that she too had been torn between the two options and added, “A one-piece is also acceptable, I’m not judging.”

Beyond the playful banter, Jenna’s comments served as a reminder of the importance of body positivity and self-acceptance. In a world where women often feel pressure to meet certain beauty standards, Jenna’s honest approach was refreshing and relatable, especially for mothers who navigate the physical changes that come with raising children.

Jenna’s segment with Ego is part of the *Today Show*’s ongoing evolution since Hoda Kotb’s departure. The show has embraced a rotating lineup of guest co-hosts, bringing a diversity of voices and perspectives to the table. Jenna’s co-hosts have included a range of well-known figures, from actress Scarlett Johansson to singer Kelsea Ballerini, all adding their unique touch to the morning show.

Jenna, who has three children with her husband Henry Hager, continues to balance her personal life with her professional one. The couple married in 2008 and lives in Connecticut with their three kids: Mila, 11; Poppy, 9; and Hal, 5. Over the years, Jenna has opened up about her experiences as a mother, offering a relatable glimpse into her life as a working mom.

In another *Jenna & Friends* episode, Jenna shared her insight into marriage, emphasizing the importance of choosing the right partner. Reflecting on her own relationship with Henry, she explained that the key to a successful marriage lies in mutual support and the feeling of being encouraged to pursue one’s passions. “Part of it is choosing the right person because they make you feel — they’re supportive, but they also make you feel like you’re doing what you’re supposed to be doing because then you can do it well,” Jenna said.

Jenna’s ability to keep things real and relatable, whether discussing body image or relationships, has made her a beloved figure on *The Today Show*. Her openness continues to inspire viewers, reminding them that no matter where they are in life, embracing who they are and staying true to themselves is what truly matters. Whether rocking a bikini, a one-piece, or simply navigating the complexities of life, Jenna’s down-to-earth approach remains a breath of fresh air for her audience.
