Craig Conover, star of *Southern Charm*, recently opened up about his highly publicized breakup with Paige DeSorbo. 

Appearing on Thursday’s episode of *Watch What Happens Live*, Conover shared his side of the story, 

shedding light on the emotional aftermath of his three-year relationship with the *Summer House* star.

The 36-year-old actor and entrepreneur didn’t hold back as he addressed DeSorbo’s claims about their split. 

On her *Giggly Squad* podcast in December, DeSorbo had described the breakup as mutual. 

However, Conover vehemently disagreed, asserting, “Paige lied on her podcast and said that the breakup was mutual – which it wasn’t.”

According to Conover, he was blindsided when DeSorbo decided to end things. He emphasized that their relationship appeared to be moving forward and that they were both planning their future together. “We didn’t want different things,” Conover explained, adding, “She just wanted other people, and that’s fine.” He expressed that while he wasn’t angry at her decision, he didn’t agree with the narrative that “love isn’t enough,” suggesting that couples should be able to work through their differences if they truly care for each other.

The *Sewing Down South* founder detailed how shocked he was by the sudden change in DeSorbo’s feelings. He pointed out that their relationship seemed stable only weeks before the breakup, as they had just celebrated Thanksgiving with her family. Moreover, Conover claimed that DeSorbo had asked him to plan a trip to Europe for New Year’s and had even discussed their wedding plans. “She made me promise we would never break up weekly,” he said, referring to a conversation they had in her mother’s kitchen.

Conover’s emotional distress was clear when he described how, just two weeks prior, DeSorbo had been making plans for their future, which left him completely unprepared for the breakup. “Two weeks prior, she asked me to plan us a trip to Europe for New Year’s,” Conover shared. “She also talked about our wedding in her mom’s kitchen.” The fact that their relationship was so seemingly strong only to unravel so suddenly left Conover feeling blindsided.

When host Andy Cohen pressed Conover on whether he was taken by surprise, Conover’s response was unequivocal: “That’s the definition of what happened.” He added, “Out of nowhere, she called me and broke up with me after three years.” 

Elaborating on the timeline, Conover explained that while DeSorbo had first brought up the idea of breaking up after Thanksgiving, he didn’t truly grasp the gravity of the situation until a few days later. They spoke in person, and it was during that conversation that DeSorbo officially ended their relationship in early December. 

This timeline directly contradicted DeSorbo’s account on her podcast, where she claimed that the breakup had taken place over the Thanksgiving weekend and that she had given Conover a heads-up about her intentions to announce it a month later.

As the conversation unfolded, Conover revealed that he had even been considering a significant change for the sake of their relationship. “I was planning on moving to New York City to be with her,” Conover admitted, underscoring how deeply he had invested in their future together.

While the public breakup was undoubtedly painful for both parties, Conover made it clear that he was now focused on moving forward. He acknowledged that it was difficult to understand what had gone wrong but seemed resolved to leave the past behind. “I’m moving on with my life,” he stated firmly.
