Four months after Liam Payne’s tragic passing, shocking details about his relationship with ex-fiancée Maya Henry have come to light. 

A new Rolling Stone exposé, published Tuesday, alleges troubling aspects of their romance, including claims 

that the former One Direction star struggled with his sexuality, engaged in inappropriate behavior, and pressured Henry into making difficult decisions.

Liam Payne’s Alleged Struggles with Sexuality

According to multiple sources who spoke with Rolling Stone, Payne privately battled confusion over his sexuality while dating Henry. 

Insiders claimed that during their on-again, off-again relationship from 2018 to 2022, the singer engaged in sexting with other men.

One particularly distressing moment reportedly occurred when Henry discovered Payne’s messages after he accidentally displayed them on their television screen. This revelation, sources say, led to significant tension in their relationship.

Claims of Coerced Abortion

The report also alleges that in 2020, Henry became pregnant while the couple was actively trying to start a family. However, when she informed Payne of the pregnancy, he allegedly gave her a harsh ultimatum.

“Liam sent Maya a long message saying it’s either get an abortion and stay with him, or raise the kid alone and he will not acknowledge either of them,” a source claimed.

The allegations were particularly shocking because, at the time, Payne had publicly expressed a desire to have more children. He had already welcomed his first son, Bear, in 2017 with former partner Cheryl Cole.

Henry reportedly agreed to terminate the pregnancy, later hinting at the painful experience in her 2024 novel, Looking Forward. The book, which she said was “inspired” by her relationship with Payne, included a storyline where the protagonist, Mallory, goes through a similar ordeal.

“What I went through in real life is very similar to what Mallory went through in the book,” Henry told People in 2024. “I definitely did have some complications [following my abortion], and I did have to go to the hospital alone.”

Accusations of Abuse and Harassment

The Rolling Stone article also makes deeply disturbing allegations about Payne’s behavior during their tumultuous relationship. Sources claim that he once pushed Henry down a flight of stairs and, on another occasion, chased her with an ax.

In a statement to the publication, Henry reflected on her time with Payne, expressing both love and pain.

“I loved [Liam] very much,” she shared. “Anyone who has been with an addict understands how difficult that is. While I loved him deeply, he did things that hurt me in ways I’ll never fully understand, and he continued to hurt me years after we broke up.”

Henry admitted to ignoring warning signs in their relationship, stating, “I put myself in situations that were unsafe and harmful, ignoring every red flag.” Despite her traumatic experiences, she added that she does not “fault him for his struggles.”

Legal Action and Final Days

Two years after their final split, Henry reportedly sent Payne a cease-and-desist letter, accusing him of sending her and her loved ones “unsolicited and disturbing images and videos.”

By that time, Payne had moved on and was in a relationship with influencer Kate Cassidy. The couple was together in Argentina shortly before his death in October 2024 at the age of 31.

While Payne’s passing shocked the music world, these new revelations have further complicated his legacy. The latest allegations paint a troubling picture of his personal struggles, raising questions about the hidden turmoil he faced behind the scenes.
