Wendy Williams brought new evidence to court, claiming she was NOT CARED FOR LIKE A HUMAN while struggling with dementia: “The things they made me do still haunt me…”

Wendy Williams has made a shocking revelation about her medical care,

claiming that she has not seen a doctor in nearly two years despite being diagnosed with dementia in 2023.

The former talk show host, who was placed under a court-appointed guardianship in 2022, insists she is not incapacitated and questions the accuracy of her diagnosis.

Williams opened up about her situation in the new Tubi documentary TMZ Presents: Saving Wendy Williams, which premiered on February 12.

In an interview with TMZ founder Harvey Levin, the 60-year-old media personality discussed the drastic changes in her life under guardianship

and her concerns about her lack of medical attention.

Wendy Williams Says She Hasn’t Had a Medical Exam in Years

During the interview, Levin asked Williams when she had last seen a doctor, to which she replied, “A long while.” She admitted that she could not even estimate a timeframe, explaining that during her year-long stay in Connecticut and her subsequent six to seven months in her current assisted living facility, she had not received any medical checkups.

This statement raises concerns about whether Williams is receiving proper care, given her medical history and the diagnosis of dementia. Her guardianship, which was put in place due to claims of cognitive impairment, was supposed to ensure her well-being. However, Williams’ own statements suggest that she may not be receiving regular medical evaluations.

Challenging the Dementia Diagnosis

Williams’ guardianship was initially established in 2022 due to concerns about her mental health and financial management. In 2023, she was diagnosed with dementia, a condition that can affect memory, decision-making, and overall cognitive function. However, Williams has repeatedly denied that she is incapacitated.

“I feel fantastic. I am not incapacitated,” she told Levin in the documentary.

Medical experts have weighed in on the possibility of a misdiagnosis. Neurologist Dr. Leah Croll explained that alcohol-induced brain damage can mimic symptoms of dementia, making it difficult to differentiate between the two conditions. Williams has a well-documented history of substance abuse but has reportedly been sober in recent years.

“There’s a lot of overlap because alcohol tends to be particularly toxic to the prefrontal lobes of the brain, and those are the parts affected in frontotemporal dementia,” Dr. Croll noted. She suggested that Williams’ symptoms should be re-evaluated now that she has maintained sobriety.

Levin pressed further, asking whether Williams’ apparent improvement in recent interviews should prompt a new medical evaluation. Dr. Croll agreed, stating, “Certainly. This could be a reason for her neurologist and her team to reassess her cognition.”

Legal Battle Over Williams’ Guardianship

Williams’ guardianship has been a contentious issue, with her family and fans questioning whether it is truly in her best interest. On February 5, her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, filed court documents requesting a new medical evaluation. This request came after Williams appeared on The Breakfast Club radio show, where she denied having dementia and expressed frustration with her legal situation.

“I don’t have frontotemporal dementia. It’s disgusting,” Williams declared on the show. “That’s a very rare thing for anybody to have.” She also insisted, “I’m not incapacitated. I am not a baby.”

Morrissey’s court filing stated that Williams’ public remarks contradicted her official diagnosis and warranted further medical testing. The guardian also emphasized that Williams had previously supported a lawsuit against A&E Television Networks over the Where Is Wendy Williams? docuseries, which allegedly portrayed her in a negative light. However, during The Breakfast Club interview, Williams suggested she no longer wanted to pursue legal action, further complicating the situation.

Concerns About Williams’ Well-Being

Morrissey has argued that the guardianship was put in place to protect Williams’ interests, including her financial and medical well-being. In her legal filing, she pointed out that Williams’ cognitive state should not be determined by “careless speculation in tabloids, radio, or on the internet” but rather through proper medical assessment.

“The issue of whether [Williams] has the capacity to assess what is in her own best interests deserves renewed careful consideration by qualified experts,” the filing stated.

Morrissey also clarified that she had no intention of continuing legal battles if a new medical evaluation determined that Williams was capable of making her own decisions. However, she stressed that if the previous diagnosis was accurate, then ongoing legal and financial protection would still be necessary.

What’s Next for Wendy Williams?

Williams’ claims of not receiving medical care for nearly two years have sparked renewed scrutiny of her guardianship and medical diagnosis. If her statements are accurate, they raise serious questions about whether she is receiving the necessary care to manage her health.

At the same time, her denial of dementia and insistence on independence suggest that a re-evaluation could be necessary to determine her true cognitive state. Whether the court will order a new medical assessment remains to be seen, but Williams’ latest revelations have certainly added fuel to the ongoing debate over her legal and personal freedom.

For now, fans and supporters continue to hope that Williams gets the care and attention she needs—whether that means continued guardianship or full control over her own affairs.
