Craig Conover left everyone speechless after revealing he sought therapy to handle the t0rment he endured from Paige DeSorbo. What unfolded?

Craig Conover is taking time to reflect on his recent breakup with Paige DeSorbo, gaining perspective on the relationship and its end.

The Southern Charm star appeared on the Tamron Hall Show on February 17,

where he discussed his feelings about the breakup, how he’s grown from the experience, and the challenges of facing public scrutiny after the split.

The 36-year-old reality star candidly shared that, in hindsight, he recognizes the emotional toll that the relationship had taken on him.

“I would’ve ended up losing myself because I would’ve given up everything to stay with her,” he admitted.

While it was difficult at first, Conover now sees the breakup as a blessing.

“As we’re a couple of months out, I see that now,” he continued. “That’s why your mood changes throughout [a breakup], you have to go through those grieving processes… it’s perspective.”

Conover’s reflection on the breakup shows that, while painful, the time apart from DeSorbo has allowed him to gain clarity and understand what he needs in a relationship. He explained that, when emotions are involved, it’s hard to see the bigger picture right away, but with time, things tend to become clearer.

The fallout from the breakup was highly public, especially given the couple’s roles on reality TV. One of the more dramatic moments came when DeSorbo, 32, accused Conover in a Summer House teaser of texting other women while they were still together. Conover addressed the accusation during his Tamron Hall Show appearance, acknowledging that it wasn’t easy when his character was called into question. “Any time your character is challenged, especially things that you’re proud of, it’s not great, but that’s the life we live on television,” he said. Despite the allegation, Conover has denied that he was texting other women while in the relationship.

In response to the accusation and the public nature of his breakup, Conover emphasized that the only thing he can control is his own behavior. He also explained his philosophy about relationships, stating that he would not enter a relationship unless he could see the possibility of it leading to marriage. “You can only control yourself. But I won’t date someone unless I can see myself marrying them, because there’s two outcomes if you date — you break up or you get married,” he said.

Conover revealed that for a time, he genuinely believed that DeSorbo could be “The One.” They had been dating for three years before their breakup, and Conover admitted that he thought he had everything he wanted in that relationship. “When I met Paige, she was my One. I had everything that I wanted in that relationship,” he shared, expressing how deeply invested he was in their future together.

However, the breakup also brought with it rumors and speculation, including accusations of infidelity from both sides. DeSorbo was accused by some of moving on with comedian Marcello Hernandez or another unidentified man, though she has denied the allegations. Conover also denied any claims that he was texting other women, despite the accusations made in the Summer House teaser. In a February 6 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Conover had chosen to remain tight-lipped about the rumors surrounding DeSorbo, saying he didn’t want to get involved in the gossip.

Throughout the ups and downs of their public relationship, Conover has emphasized the importance of staying true to oneself and not settling in a relationship. He expressed that it’s important to be with someone who feels right, not just for the sake of being in a relationship. “I don’t think you should settle,” he explained. “I don’t think you should date someone unless you don’t want to date anyone else.”

As Conover continues to heal from the breakup, it’s clear that he’s gained valuable lessons about love, relationships, and personal growth. Despite the heartache and public fallout, he’s focusing on moving forward and finding clarity in his own life.
