Kristen Bell has always been open about the strong bond she shares with her husband, Dax Shepard. 

In a recent interview with E! News, the actress shared how the “foundational trust” between them makes navigating romantic and intimate scenes with co-stars much easier. 

According to Bell, she has no doubts about Shepard’s commitment to their family, regardless of the on-screen chemistry he may share with his co-stars.

“I know he’s coming home. I know he loves our children. 

I know he strives to be a great husband and father,” Bell explained, emphasizing her confidence in Shepard, even in the context of his onscreen relationships. 

She further acknowledged that while they have a deep trust, they also communicate openly about any insecurities. 

“Maybe there could be a day where I’m like, ‘I’m actually really nervous that you spend time with that person,’” she said. “And he could say, ‘Oh, OK, let’s talk about it. What makes you nervous? What are you thinking?’ We have a very open communication.”

For Bell, trust is at the core of her relationship with Shepard, and that extends to their work life, especially when it involves romantic scenes. She revealed that she fully supports her husband’s professional endeavors, even when they involve intimate moments with other women. A memorable example came from Shepard’s role in Parenthood, where he had a kissing scene with actress Minka Kelly. Shepard was equally complimentary, admitting that when he watched the scene, he was eager for Bell to kiss Brody. “My best friend, Aaron, from childhood, he goes, ‘Does she ever kiss you like that?’” Shepard said with a laugh. “No, I didn’t even know she could kiss like that.”

This playful banter between the couple highlights their strong relationship, built on mutual respect, trust, and a healthy sense of humor.
