Sheinelle Jones is beaming with pride as she celebrates a major milestone in her son’s life.
The “Today” show co-host recently took to Instagram to mark her eldest son Kayin’s 15th birthday, sharing a heartfelt tribute accompanied by a series of nostalgic photos.
In the touching post, Sheinelle reflected on the moment she first became a mother, posting a rare throwback picture of herself cradling newborn Kayin.
The candid image captured a deeply personal moment, as she gazed at her baby with love and devotion.
The photo tribute also included a selfie of the duo, showcasing their striking resemblance as they smiled warmly for the camera.

“15 years ago today … my heart expanded with so much love – I can’t even describe it,” Sheinelle wrote in the caption. She accompanied the post with Celine Dion’s version of “Beautiful Boy,” a song she used to play for him as a baby. “I love you, Kayin!!! I used to play this song when you were a baby … now you’re heading to high school! Goodness, time is flying … HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!”
This birthday tribute comes just months after Sheinelle celebrated another major milestone in her son’s life—his graduation from eighth grade. In June, she posted a heartfelt message marking the occasion, reminiscing about his first day of preschool. “I remember your first day of pre-K like it was yesterday!” she wrote. “You were this giant light ready to soak up everything they could teach you.”
Sheinelle expressed her admiration for Kayin’s love of learning, his compassion for people, and his passion for making the most of every experience, from academics to sports to music. “And I would be lying to you if I said that it wasn’t,” she admitted. “One four-year-old alone can be a tornado, so I have two of them. And then they have a big brother who is seven.”
