Blake Lively was accused of being FAKE after reports suggested her apology to the It Ends With Us writers was driven by money: She wouldn’t have said a word if she wasn’t getting something out of it…

Blake Lively has extended a heartfelt apology to It Ends With Us screenwriter Christy Hall after mistakenly attributing credit for a crucial scene to her husband, Ryan Reynolds.

RadarOnline.com reports that Lively’s amended lawsuit against co-star Justin Baldoni included email exchanges in

which the actress acknowledged her regret over the situation and admitted she felt “awful” for blindsiding Hall.

Lively’s Amended Lawsuit and Apology to Hall

The controversy stems from Lively’s revelation during a red carpet interview last year,

where she claimed Reynolds had played a significant role in rewriting the film’s “infamous” rooftop scene.

This admission reportedly caught Hall off guard, as she had been unaware of Reynolds’ involvement.

In court documents filed on Tuesday, Lively addressed the backlash and sought to clarify her remarks. The filing included an email to Hall, in which the actress expressed deep remorse for how her comments had impacted the screenwriter.

“I heard you were ambushed at your junket with a question about something I said on the red carpet. I feel awful,” Lively wrote. She further explained that she had no intention of undermining Hall’s contributions but was simply expressing pride in her husband’s support.

“I believe firmly that two things can be true. In this case, he can show up for me and do great work doing so, and you can do great work which got us all here,” Lively continued. She acknowledged the media’s tendency to frame issues in black-and-white terms and admitted she should have been more cautious in her wording.

Christy Hall’s Reaction and Acceptance of the Apology

Hall, who had previously appeared puzzled by Lively’s claim, had stated that she was unaware of Reynolds’ contributions to the scene’s dialogue. During a press event, she expressed surprise upon learning of his involvement, assuming certain elements of the scene had been improvised rather than rewritten by an outside party.

After receiving Lively’s apology, Hall reportedly “graciously accepted the heartfelt apology” and assured that she “did not take Ms. Lively’s comment personally.”

The Original Controversy

At the film’s New York City premiere, Lively made headlines when she disclosed that Reynolds had secretly contributed to It Ends With Us by writing key parts of the rooftop scene. Speaking to the press, she proudly shared, “My husband actually wrote it. Nobody knows that but you now.”

She elaborated on their creative partnership, saying, “We help each other. He works on everything I do; I work on everything he does. So his wins, his celebrations are mine, and mine are his.”

Hall’s response to these claims was measured but clearly surprised. She explained that she had assumed certain lines in the scene were improvisations by the actors, rather than scripted by Reynolds. “There were a few little flourishes that I did not write, but I assumed that they had been improvised on set,” she noted. “But if I’m being told that Ryan wrote that, then great, how wonderful.”

Lively’s Legal Battle with Justin Baldoni

Amid the controversy over It Ends With Us, Lively remains entangled in a heated legal dispute with her co-star Justin Baldoni. Since December, Lively has been engaged in a lawsuit against Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment. Baldoni has vehemently denied the allegations and countered with a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively, her publicist, and Reynolds. Additionally, he has filed a $250 million libel suit against The New York Times for its coverage of Lively’s allegations.

In the amended complaint, Lively referred to Baldoni as a “creep” and alleged that he pressured her into performing an intimate scene in an inappropriate manner. Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, has dismissed Lively’s claims, arguing that the latest filing contains “no new evidence” and relies on “unsubstantiated hearsay from unnamed sources.”

Trial Set for 2026

Despite the ongoing legal battle, both parties have opted to forgo mediation and proceed to trial. A judge has set the trial date for March 2026, ensuring that this high-profile case will continue to unfold in the public eye.

As Lively works to address the controversy surrounding It Ends With Us and mend fences with Hall, the legal battle with Baldoni remains an escalating conflict with no immediate resolution in sight.
