Harrison Ford has long been a dominant force in Hollywood, portraying some of the most legendary characters in film history.

However, Ford did address the topic of retirement while attending the Los Angeles premiere of 1923 Season 2. 

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the actor shared his thoughts on when he might finally step away from acting. His response? “When you forget my name.”

Ford’s Relentless Passion for Acting

Though Ford may joke about retirement, his continued commitment to acting proves that he has no real plans to slow down. When asked about his decision to remain in the industry, he explained that he has recently been drawn to compelling scripts that reignited his passion.

“I ran into a vein of really good writing, and I thought I’d take advantage of it, and I’m really glad I did,” Ford shared.

This drive to work on exciting projects has kept him busy, leading him to take on multiple roles across film and television. However, even Ford himself acknowledges that his packed schedule is a bit overwhelming. When asked how he would describe this phase of his career, he humorously replied: “Stupid. A little bit too everywhere for my sensibilities.”

Will He Continue With 1923?

Ford stars in the hit Yellowstone prequel 1923, alongside fellow Hollywood icon Helen Mirren. The show has been well-received, and Ford teased that the upcoming second season is shaping up to be just as strong as the first. However, when asked if he would return for a third season, he remained noncommittal, simply shrugging and saying, “I just work here.”

Despite his busy workload, Ford seems to be enjoying this latest chapter of his career, especially with his recent addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In Captain America: Brave New World, Ford takes on the role of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, a character previously portrayed by the late William Hurt. The film, which hit theaters on Valentine’s Day, marks Ford’s debut in the Marvel universe.

When asked if his wife, actress Calista Flockhart, is a fan of Marvel films, Ford revealed that she doesn’t quite keep up with the franchise.

“She thinks it’s Mrs. Marvel,” he joked, adding, “She’s not seen this movie.”

A Love That Stands the Test of Time

Ford and Flockhart have been married since 2010, and their relationship continues to be one of Hollywood’s strongest. Both have had incredibly successful careers in the entertainment industry, with Flockhart recently preparing for her return to the stage in an off-Broadway production of Curse of the Starving Class.

They primarily reside on a breathtaking 800-acre ranch in Wyoming, a property Ford purchased back in the 1980s. However, they also own a luxurious $13 million home in Brentwood, California.

Ford and Flockhart share one son, Liam, who recently graduated from Amherst College in Massachusetts. Following his graduation in 2023, Liam moved back in with his parents, enjoying time at their serene Wyoming ranch.
