Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos may be a picture-perfect couple, but when it comes to taking actual pictures, Ripa isn’t exactly impressed with her husband’s skills. 

During a recent episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the 54-year-old host playfully called out Consuelos for his less-than-ideal photography during their family vacation.

The Search for a Decent Vacation Photo

Ripa shared the amusing story after the show’s longtime producer, Michael Gelman, asked her if she had any vacation photos to share. 

She explained that, as usual, she had taken thousands of pictures of her family but had little interest in sharing them publicly. However, she had a different idea:

“I told him, ‘No, but go get Mark’s phone because as I recall, about six days ago, Mark took a photo of me and I would like to see it.’”

Ripa, who has often joked about the lack of photos of herself on family trips, turned to Consuelos and teased:

“There are never photos of me on vacation. When I pass away, not to be macabre, the only photos that prove that I exist are paparazzi photos.”

Mark’s Questionable Photography Skills

With curiosity piqued, Ripa took matters into her own hands and scrolled through her husband’s camera roll to find the long-awaited vacation shot. As she set the scene for the audience, she explained that during their two-week trip, she had mostly gone makeup-free and skipped styling her hair. However, on New Year’s Eve, she made an exception for a costume party.

“I got all done up and I looked pretty—for me. I put on makeup, I put on lipstick,” she explained.

Consuelos, ever the doting husband, reassured her: “You looked gorgeous.”

But when Ripa finally revealed the much-anticipated vacation photo, the audience erupted in laughter. Instead of a stunning, well-lit picture capturing her beauty, the image featured a breathtaking sunset over the ocean—while Ripa appeared completely backlit in the foreground, barely distinguishable in a slight squatting position.

Ripa’s Bigfoot Comparison

Not stopping there, Ripa doubled down on the humor, revealing that Consuelos had actually taken a second shot. In this one, she was silhouetted against the sky, waving to the camera in what could only be described as an accidental cryptid sighting.

“You know when they show Bigfoot? That’s like Littlefoot. We found Bigfoot’s offspring, Littlefoot,” she joked, much to the delight of the audience.

As Consuelos chuckled at his wife’s reaction, he defended his work, pointing out, “That’s a beautiful sunset.” But it was clear that Ripa wasn’t going to let him off the hook so easily.

A Rare Family Gathering

Despite the photography mishap, Ripa expressed how grateful she was for the opportunity to spend quality time with their three children—Michael, 27, Lola, 23, and Joaquin, 21. She acknowledged how challenging it is to coordinate schedules with adult kids, making their getaway all the more special.

“We had all three of our kids at the same time, which as you know if you are parents of adult children, that is a very rare thing. And we are so grateful,” Ripa shared.

The Couple’s Signature Playful Banter

Ripa and Consuelos, who have been married for 28 years, are known for their playful on-air banter, and this latest exchange was no exception. Their dynamic, filled with lighthearted teasing and affectionate jabs, continues to entertain audiences and showcase the fun side of their long-lasting relationship.

While Ripa may never fully trust Consuelos to capture her best angles, their hilarious vacation photo fail proves that even imperfect moments can create perfect memories.
