Demi Moore stuns everyone by disclosing she was pranked at the SAG 2025 red carpet: I wasn’t the only victim

Sunday night at the SAG Awards, Hollywood’s biggest stars took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, reminiscing about the early days of their acting careers.

The annual event is not only a celebration of outstanding performances

but also a moment for actors to reflect on their journey in the industry and how they earned their SAG-AFTRA cards.

This year, host Kristen Bell helped set the tone for the night with a creative and humorous nod to the beginnings of many A-list actors.

The Veronica Mars alum delighted the audience with a reimagined version of Do You Want to Build a Snowman? from Frozen, playfully referencing the stars’ first roles.

Among the notable mentions were Wonka star Timothée Chalamet’s appearance on Law & Order, Kieran Culkin’s cameo in Home Alone,

and Selena Gomez’s childhood days on Barney & Friends.

A Look Back at Some of Hollywood’s Biggest Stars’ Early Roles

As many of these actors prepare for the upcoming Oscars on March 2, their beginnings in the entertainment world remind us just how far they’ve come. Here’s a look at some of the most memorable early roles from this year’s SAG Awards nominees and attendees:

Demi Moore – General Hospital (1981)

Before she became a Hollywood icon, Demi Moore got her start on the long-running soap opera General Hospital. The actress, who is currently making waves with her performance in The Substance, made her screen debut as a teenager in 1981.

Harrison Ford – Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round (1966)

Legendary actor Harrison Ford, who was nominated for his role in Shrinking, began his career in the 1966 crime film Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round. In this early role, Ford appeared alongside Camilla Sparv, marking the beginning of what would become a legendary career in Hollywood.

Timothée Chalamet – Law & Order and Royal Pains (2009)

Long before he became a heartthrob in Call Me by Your Name and Dune, Timothée Chalamet made his television debut in 2009 with a small role on Law & Order. That same year, he also appeared on Royal Pains, showcasing his early talent before breaking into major film roles.

Kieran Culkin – Home Alone (1990)

Like his older brother Macaulay Culkin, Kieran Culkin got an early start in the film industry. His first big-screen appearance was in the 1990 holiday classic Home Alone, where he played Kevin McCallister’s cousin. Now, he’s an award-winning actor, thanks to his acclaimed role in HBO’s Succession.

Ralph Fiennes – A Dangerous Man: Lawrence After Arabia (1990)

Acclaimed actor Ralph Fiennes made his screen debut in 1990, portraying T. E. Lawrence in the British television film A Dangerous Man: Lawrence After Arabia. His performance paved the way for a remarkable career, including roles in Schindler’s List, The English Patient, and as Voldemort in the Harry Potter franchise.

Pamela Anderson – Baywatch (1990)

Pamela Anderson’s rise to fame was anything but traditional. She was discovered at a BC Lions football game in 1989 when she appeared on the stadium’s jumbotron. Soon after, she landed her first television role on Charles in Charge, but it was Baywatch that cemented her as a pop culture phenomenon.

Selena Gomez – Barney & Friends (2002)

Before she became a Disney Channel sensation, Selena Gomez got her start on the beloved children’s series Barney & Friends in 2002. She later gained widespread recognition for her role as Alex Russo in Wizards of Waverly Place, setting the stage for her multifaceted career in music, film, and television.

Ariana Grande – Victorious (2010)

Like Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande first made a name for herself in children’s television. She played the lovable and quirky Cat Valentine on Victorious in 2010, a role that eventually led to a spin-off, Sam & Cat. Today, she’s a global pop superstar, but her acting roots remain a significant part of her career.

Jamie Lee Curtis – Halloween (1978)

Following in the footsteps of her famous parents, Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, Jamie Lee Curtis made her film debut in John Carpenter’s Halloween in 1978. She quickly earned the title of “Scream Queen” and built a career that has spanned decades, leading to her recent Academy Award win for Everything Everywhere All at Once.

A Night of Reflection and Celebration

The SAG Awards are always a time for reflection, and this year was no different. As Hollywood’s brightest stars prepare for the Oscars, their humble beginnings serve as a reminder of the hard work and perseverance it takes to reach the top.

Whether it was through soap operas, children’s TV shows, or bit parts in major films, these actors all took different paths to stardom. Their journeys not only inspire aspiring performers but also demonstrate the importance of every role, no matter how small, in shaping a successful career.

As Kristen Bell’s playful performance at the SAG Awards showed, every A-lister started somewhere, and sometimes, it’s fun to look back at those early days and appreciate just how far they’ve come.
