Al Roker, the beloved weatherman of Today, is well-known for his quick wit and sharp sense of humor. 

Recently, he had the Today show hosts and viewers in stitches with his perfect comeback during a segment discussing the return of catalogs. 

The playful moment, which took place on-air, showcased Al’s effortless ability to add humor to any situation, 

leaving co-hosts Craig Melvin, Savannah Guthrie, and Hoda Kotb momentarily speechless.

The segment in question was about catalogs making a comeback, with the hosts diving into a conversation about the nostalgic nature of receiving physical mail. 

As the banter unfolded, Al took the opportunity to throw in a hilarious quip that targeted his co-hosts, particularly around their childhoods.

With his children grown and out of the house, Al is now enjoying the next phase of his life as an empty-nester with his wife, Deborah Roberts. “I’m just head over heels over my granddaughter,” Al said of his granddaughter, Sky Clara Laga, adding that his children are all grown up. “But my kids are grown. They’re out of the house. I’ve had my time with them,” he continued. Al’s personal experience with his children growing up made him empathize with Hoda’s desire to spend more time with her little ones.

“I completely get it,” Al added, referencing Hoda’s decision to take time for her children. “She’s not leaving the family. So at the end of the day, I’m happy for her.” While Hoda’s departure marks a significant change, Al assured viewers that the show would continue to thrive, thanks to the strong team dynamic. “The great thing about the Today show,” Al said, “is that the sum is greater than its equal parts.” He praised his fellow co-hosts, including Craig, Sheinelle Jones, and Willie Geist, for their ability to step in seamlessly and keep the show running without missing a beat.
