A shocking scam has occurred when a woman in France scammed Brad Pitt out of $850,000. This story became even more remarkable when Marwan Ouarab, 

founder of the website Find My Scammer, and his team found the identity and address of the scammers in Nigeria, with the help of technology.

The incident began in February 2023 when Anne, a 53-year-old interior designer, started chatting with a Brad Pitt scam account on social media. 

First, the scammer pretended to be Brad Pitt’s mother and then automatically the actor. For months, Anne believed that she had a close relationship with Brad Pitt. 

When her marriage was in trouble, the scammer took advantage of Anne’s feelings to ask for her benefits to support financial treatment for her illness, 

with the reason that Brad Pitt was looking for health problems and was kissing Angelina Jolie.

This story, written with tragedy, gave Anne a deep insight into the scammer’s deception. The scammer used AI-generated images and videos to send images of Brad Pitt and convince Anne of the fictional stories. However, the truth came out when Anne realized that the famous actor was not hospitalized as he said, and was in a relationship with a new girlfriend.

Thanks to the information Anne provided, Marwan Ouarab found the scammer’s list. Ouarab, the founder of Find My Scammer, a platform that helps detect and prevent online scams, contacted the scammer by sending him a “fake link”. Upon clicking this link, Ouarab and his team were able to access Ninja’s device and identify the group’s address in Nigeria. Ouarab’s team discovered that the scammer had not only scammed Brad Pitt but also continued the scam by impersonating another A-list star, Keanu Reeves.

Ouarab said that the group had about three to four young members and that they had found at least 34 other victims on the device of the Brad Pitt scammer alone. After gathering enough evidence, Ouarab notified the Nigerian authorities and pledged to provide all information to support the investigation.

Although the authorities have begun investigating, the work has not only shocked the large sums of money but also caused those involved to face serious psychological complications. After discovering the scam, Anne was hospitalized for depression and shared her story to warn others. However, her speaking out has led to a wave of excitement and criticism from the online community. Her story has been removed from TF1’s platform to protect the character, while some have criticised the broadcaster for failing to protect a vulnerable person.

The incident has also caught the attention of Brad Pitt, whose publicist has been notorious for criticising the exploitation of celebrity-fan relationships. Pitt’s publicist has insisted that sophisticated scammers are exploiting celebrities’ image to gain wealth, and has urged people not to respond to suspicious messages, especially from actors who do not use social media.

While the story is heartbreaking, it also serves as a warning to the province about the dangers of online scams and the scams that can be used. It also highlights the importance of protecting personal information and being aware of the warning signs when an online relationship is not authentic.

It is not yet known whether Anne will be able to recover the money she lost, but her story will certainly be a valuable lesson for those who are easily caught up in online relationships.
