Angelina Jolie’s desire to leave Los Angeles and start a new chapter abroad is being met with resistance from her six children, creating a challenging situation for the actress. 

Despite her strong wish to relocate, particularly after her Oscar snub for her role in Maria, 

Jolie’s children are not ready to say goodbye to the city where they’ve spent much of their lives, forging friendships and career opportunities in the entertainment industry.

An insider revealed to Radar Online that while Jolie is eager to leave Hollywood, her children’s attachments to Los Angeles are making it difficult to pull them away. 

“Angie can’t get out of Hollywood fast enough,” said the source. 

“She would love to start fresh somewhere else – either in Europe or Cambodia, where she’s done so much humanitarian work.”

Jolie has long had a deep connection to Cambodia, where she has been involved in numerous charitable initiatives through her Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation. 

The actress has often spoken of her dream of owning a family compound there, envisioning a peaceful, private life for herself and her children. However, her children, who are now at an age where they are beginning to carve out their own careers, are not enthusiastic about leaving behind the opportunities Los Angeles offers.

Her six children—Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 18, and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne—are said to be firmly planted in Hollywood, with their own budding aspirations in the entertainment business. “Angie assumed the kids would want to come with her, but what she underestimated was how attached they are to LA,” the source explained. “They have friends here, and they want to launch their own careers.”

The prospect of abandoning the opportunities that Los Angeles provides has led to friction within the family. The insider noted that the idea of relocating to a remote area, particularly Cambodia, just isn’t appealing to the children, who are at critical stages in their lives and careers. “The idea of abandoning all the opportunities in LA to live overseas just isn’t appealing to them, and it’s causing serious tension,” the source revealed.

Jolie’s dream of relocating to Cambodia is not a new one. She has often expressed a longing for a more grounded, private lifestyle, away from the spotlight of Hollywood. She has land in Cambodia and sees it as a place where her family can connect with the world on a deeper level, particularly through her ongoing humanitarian work. However, as her children grow older, their dreams and ambitions are starting to diverge from their mother’s.

“Angie has dreamed of having a family compound with all her children there for years,” the source continued. “Unfortunately, it’s gotten very complicated now that they’re at an age where they have their own dreams and ambitions that don’t align with hers.”

The children’s growing interest in the entertainment industry is adding another layer of complexity to the situation. While Jolie herself is a seasoned Hollywood veteran, having made her mark as an actress, director, and activist, her children are now beginning to carve out their own paths in the industry.
