Blake Lively is likely to NOT WIN her legal case against Justin Baldoni following the betrayal by the ex-CIA director she employed with a vicious backstab.

Blake Lively has brought in a high-profile crisis manager to help navigate her ongoing legal dispute with It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni.

The Gossip Girl actress has hired Nick Shapiro, a former deputy chief of staff at the CIA

and senior advisor to ex-director John Brennan, to assist with legal communications as the lawsuit between the two continues to escalate.

Strategic Reinforcement in Legal Battle

Lively’s legal team, Willkie Farr & Gallagher, confirmed the hiring of Shapiro, stating,

“The litigation team for Ms. Lively retained Mr. Shapiro to advise on the legal communications strategy for the ongoing sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit occurring in the Southern District of New York.”

With a trial scheduled for March 2026, Lively appears to be reinforcing her legal and PR strategy as the high-profile case continues to draw public attention.

Shapiro’s Background in Crisis Management

Shapiro is no stranger to high-stakes situations. With over 15 years of experience in crisis management, national security, and strategic communications, he has worked at the highest levels of government.

He previously served as a senior counterterrorism and homeland security aide on the National Security Council, as well as a national security spokesperson for former President Barack Obama. His experience in handling complex public relations crises makes him a significant asset to Lively’s legal team.

A Heated Legal Dispute

The legal battle between Lively and Baldoni first became public in December 2024, when Lively filed a lawsuit against her It Ends With Us co-star, accusing him of sexual harassment. She also claimed that Baldoni had launched a smear campaign against her in an attempt to discredit her allegations.

Baldoni, best known for his role in Jane the Virgin, has strongly denied the claims. In response, he not only filed a countersuit against The New York Times for libel but also launched a staggering $400 million lawsuit against Lively and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, accusing them of defamation and extortion.

Baldoni’s Counterclaims

Baldoni has alleged that Lively attempted to pressure him into relinquishing his directorial control over It Ends With Us, a film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s 2016 bestselling novel. He claims that she sought greater creative authority and, when he resisted, retaliated with accusations that have since embroiled them in a highly publicized legal battle.

While representatives for Baldoni have not publicly commented on Shapiro’s involvement in Lively’s legal strategy, it’s clear that both sides are gearing up for what promises to be a lengthy and contentious legal fight.

Public Scrutiny and Media Impact

The legal dispute has already generated significant media coverage, with The New York Times playing a major role in breaking the initial story. Given the involvement of two well-known Hollywood figures, the case is expected to continue making headlines as new developments unfold.

By bringing in Shapiro, Lively is signaling that she is taking a proactive approach to managing the narrative around the case. With his experience handling crises at the highest levels of government, his expertise will likely play a key role in shaping public perception and ensuring that Lively’s legal team maintains a strong communications strategy.

Looking Ahead

As the trial date approaches, the legal battle between Lively and Baldoni is expected to intensify. With both parties standing firm in their claims, the courtroom showdown will likely be closely watched by the entertainment industry and the public alike.

For now, Lively is leaning on her strengthened legal team, with Shapiro at the forefront of her crisis management efforts. Whether his expertise will shift the tide in her favor remains to be seen, but one thing is certain—this legal dispute is far from over.
