Fox News personality Kat Timpf revealed that her life took a major turn following a cancer diagnosis: “There’s no longer anyone supporting me…”

Fox News personality Kat Timpf has revealed that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and will soon undergo a double mastectomy.

The shocking news came just hours before she gave birth to her first child, marking an emotional and life-changing moment for the 36-year-old television host.

A Shocking Diagnosis Just Before Motherhood

Timpf took to Instagram on Tuesday to share the unexpected and deeply personal news with her followers.

In her post, titled “An Unconventional Birth Announcement,” she disclosed that she received the cancer diagnosis only 15 hours before going into labor.

“Last week, I welcomed my first child into the world. About fifteen hours before I went into labor, I was diagnosed with breast cancer,” she wrote.

Her doctors have classified the cancer as “stage zero,” reassuring her that it is highly unlikely to have spread. Despite the relatively early stage of the disease, Timpf’s medical team has strongly advised that she undergo a double mastectomy as a precautionary measure to ensure her long-term health.

Overwhelming Support—and Unsolicited Advice

Following her announcement, an outpouring of love and support flooded social media. However, along with the well-wishes came a wave of unsolicited medical advice and criticism regarding her decision to undergo a double mastectomy. Some followers shared personal stories of family members who opted for less invasive procedures, such as lumpectomies, while others questioned the necessity of her surgery.

In response, Timpf took to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday to express her gratitude for the support but also to clarify her decision.

“First of all, thank you so much for all the support, it’s meant so much to me. This is obviously a really crazy, difficult, unexpected time, and I really do appreciate it. But I wanted to address a few things because I’ve also been overwhelmed with, I guess you could say, medical advice?”

She acknowledged that while many of the comments were well-intended, she felt compelled to remind the public that every case of breast cancer is different and that she was making the best decision for her health and her family based on extensive consultations with her doctors.

“I don’t take cutting my [breasts] off lightly. As a general rule, I don’t think any woman does. I find it devastating. But I am very grateful to have access to the opinions of many brilliant minds when it comes to breast cancer.”

Prioritizing Health and Family

Despite the emotional toll of the diagnosis and impending surgery, Timpf remains focused on her health and her role as a new mother. She emphasized that her primary concern is ensuring she is present and healthy for her son for years to come.

“I have been very lucky to have a team that is very knowledgeable on this. I’ve talked to a lot of different people, and the focus of all of these conversations is what’s the best thing to do to keep me alive so I’m around for my son for a long time.”

Timpf also pointed out that while she has shared parts of her journey publicly, there are personal medical details she has chosen to keep private. She urged people to trust that she is making the best possible decision for herself and her family with the guidance of her medical team.

A Unique and Emotional Birth Experience

In her Instagram post, Timpf reflected on the whirlwind day that led up to her baby’s birth and her unexpected diagnosis.

“I woke up more-than-a-week-past-due pregnant, completely consumed by doing everything I could to get the baby out. By the afternoon, I was waddling around from appointment to appointment, talking about how to get my cancer out.”

She even found a way to inject humor into the difficult moment, recounting how she joked with her doctors about placing her tumor ultrasound next to her baby’s ultrasound on the fridge.

Timpf, who has been married to Army veteran Cameron Friscia since 2021, revealed that she and her husband welcomed a baby boy. While the experience has been overwhelming, she remains optimistic, celebrating both the joy of becoming a mother and the fortunate timing of her cancer detection.

“These next three months of maternity leave are going to look a lot different than I’d anticipated, and I’m still getting used to my new reality. Still, as I navigate new motherhood (and new cancer), I’m learning to celebrate everything I can.”

She added, “I’m lucky that we found the cancer so early; I’m lucky to be my son’s mom. I mean, I know I’m biased, but the little dude absolutely rules – and not just because he might have saved my life.”

Looking Ahead

Timpf’s announcement has sparked conversations about the importance of early detection and personalized medical decisions when it comes to breast cancer. As she prepares for her surgery and recovery, she remains committed to her health, her family, and her future.

Her story serves as a powerful reminder of resilience, the unpredictability of life, and the importance of trusting one’s own medical journey. With unwavering support from her loved ones and medical team, Timpf is facing this challenge head-on—determined to fight for a long and healthy life with her newborn son.
