Jenna Bush Hager is known for sharing candid stories about her home life with her husband, Henry Hager,

So, when fans noticed she wasn’t wearing her wedding ring, speculation quickly began. 

Viewers were eager to know the reason behind the missing piece of jewelry, and Jenna wasted no time addressing the situation.

The Truth Behind Jenna’s Missing Wedding Ring

During the February 26 episode of Today With Jenna & Friends, the 43-year-old TV personality acknowledged the online chatter about her missing ring and assured fans that her marriage was still going strong.

“I had a bad wedding ring situation. I’m not wearing one now because I broke my finger,” she explained. “Don’t worry. I’ve seen some of the comments. Henry and I are still very happily married.”

Jenna first injured her finger back in August 2024 and has been dealing with the effects ever since. The injury stemmed from what she described as a string of unfortunate events, which all started with a mishap involving her “lucky necklace” while she was in the ocean.

“I’ve tripped, I got a black eye, I broke my ring finger,” she said while discussing the incident with her then-co-host, Hoda Kotb. She also shared that Henry believed she had only sprained the finger, but she insisted it was more serious, saying, “It was blue.”

Jenna joked that maybe she should track down that lost necklace since it seemed to bring a wave of bad luck.

A Love Story That Started in the White House

Despite her injury, Jenna reassured Today viewers that her marriage remains strong. She and Henry Hager have been together for nearly 17 years, and their love story is one she frequently recounts with fondness.

The couple first met while Henry was working for President George W. Bush—Jenna’s father. She recalled their first encounter on Today With Hoda & Jenna in 2019, explaining that a college friend, who was interning for Henry at the time, introduced them.

“A friend of mine from college was like his intern at work, and we were going to watch the Texas game, and they were like, ‘Can we bring Henry?’” Jenna shared.

From that moment, Henry became a regular presence in her life, and their relationship quickly grew.

Henry’s ‘Walk of Shame’ Out of the White House

One of Jenna’s most amusing stories about her relationship with Henry involves a memorable exit from the White House. Since he was working for her father at the time, dating the president’s daughter came with some unusual challenges—including Secret Service scrutiny.

In a 2022 episode of Today, Jenna recalled a particular morning when Henry found himself in an awkward situation.

“Henry said he woke up and he looked around and he was, like, ‘Aaaaaaaah’ because he worked for my dad,” Jenna laughed.

Leaving the White House unnoticed was no easy task.

“He said to get out of the White House was as hard as getting in,” Jenna explained. “The people that guard the White House are looking to see who’s running (inside). Usually, people don’t run out.”

The story took an even funnier turn when Jenna described how Henry had to make his exit.

“He was wearing his clothes from the night before, pulling on the gate,” she added, making it clear that sneaking out of the presidential residence was anything but discreet.

Jenna and Henry’s Marriage Remains Strong

Despite the recent speculation about her missing ring, Jenna wants Today fans to know that everything in her marriage is just fine. She and Henry continue to enjoy a happy life together, raising their children and sharing laughter along the way.
