Justin Baldoni comes under fire as fans expose his so-called mental health claims as fake amid his legal dispute with Blake Lively: “He thought we wouldn’t notice…”

Justin Baldoni opened up about feeling “stressed” in a newly released interview, shedding light on the emotional toll he faced just before his legal battle with co-star Blake Lively.

His conversation with Samir Mourani on the “Gent’s Talk” podcast was recorded in November 2024 but only made public this past Monday,

adding new context to the ongoing controversy surrounding the actor and director.

During the teaser for the interview, which was unveiled last week, Baldoni, 41, admitted that 2024 had been an “intense” year for him.

However, the full interview dives even deeper into his struggles. The “It Ends With Us” star and director appeared visibly emotional throughout,

at one point even wiping away a tear as he discussed the overwhelming stress that had consumed him.

He admitted to feeling “exhausted” and “anxious” over an issue that had begun to affect not just his mental health but also his family.

Though Baldoni never directly mentioned Lively, his statements seemed to hint at the behind-the-scenes tension between them. His words suggested a power struggle and creative differences that played out both on set and in legal proceedings later on. “I haven’t talked about this yet,” he told Mourani, appearing distressed. At one moment, he even referenced sending a text that morning that had left him feeling overwhelmed with anxiety. The conversation remained vague about specifics, as “Gent’s Talk” typically centers around difficult discussions related to relationships, mental health, and personal struggles.

The timing of the interview’s recording is crucial, as it was conducted just one month before Lively filed a civil rights complaint against Baldoni, followed shortly by a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment and a smear campaign against her. Reports claim that Lively accused Baldoni of improvising unwanted kisses during filming and frequently discussing his past experiences with pornography addiction and sexual encounters.

Tensions between the two escalated in court last week when Lively and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, made new allegations against Baldoni. The legal proceedings have been marked by heated exchanges, with Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, pushing for an expedited resolution, claiming that the situation was taking a serious toll on his client. However, Lively’s attorney, Michael Gottlieb, pushed back against claims that his client was intentionally delaying the lawsuit.

During a courtroom hearing, Judge Lewis Liman denied Lively and Reynolds’ request to place a gag order on Baldoni and his legal team. Lively’s attorney argued that Baldoni’s lawyers had made public statements that unfairly questioned Lively’s credibility and character. The judge, however, pointed out that both sides had engaged in media commentary and warned that if they continued to litigate the case through the press, he might move the trial date up from March next year.

In the midst of this contentious battle, Baldoni also updated his $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively, accusing her of leaking details of her complaint to The New York Times before formally filing it in court. Gottlieb countered that Baldoni’s team was engaging in a pattern of public attacks against Lively and had even labeled her a “bully” in statements to People magazine.

The legal fight has also drawn in high-profile figures, with discussions about whether a protective order should be issued to shield certain celebrities from the fallout. Although no names were explicitly mentioned, speculation suggests that Taylor Swift—who is known to be close to Lively and Reynolds—could be one of the individuals affected. Gottlieb emphasized that safeguarding the privacy of third parties involved in the case was “very important.”

Judge Liman acknowledged the high-profile nature of the case and agreed to consider a protective order. He also reiterated that both legal teams needed to uphold ethical standards, warning that if the media leaks and public feuding continued, he would not hesitate to accelerate the trial process.

Baldoni’s emotional interview on “Gent’s Talk” provides a rare glimpse into his state of mind just before the controversy erupted. His admission of feeling “not in the best place” and needing time to recover adds a personal dimension to the legal drama that has since unfolded. While he never explicitly mentioned Lively or the lawsuit, his words seemed to foreshadow the emotional and professional turmoil that would soon follow.
