Kat Dennings stunned The View audience when she revealed the extreme measures she took to get her husband out of the house, despite her own fault in the situation.

Kat Dennings, the beloved actress known for her roles in *2 Broke Girls* and *Thor*,

recently opened up in a candid conversation with Whoopi Goldberg,

revealing some surprising insights about her personal life and her attitude toward relationships before getting married.

In a heartfelt exchange on *The View*, Dennings shared that she once firmly lived by a quote she had coined: “I don’t want somebody in my house.”

This philosophy, which she embraced for years, spoke to her independent nature

and reluctance to have a romantic partner living with her before she made the decision to settle down.

Kat Dennings has always been known for her strong sense of individuality and her no-nonsense approach to life. She has been outspoken in the past about her desire for personal space, and it seems that this mindset extended to her relationships as well. Prior to her marriage, Dennings had built a life for herself where privacy and independence were key priorities. As she explained to Goldberg, this perspective was not rooted in a fear of commitment, but rather in a desire for her own autonomy and emotional well-being.

“I used to live by this quote, ‘I don’t want somebody in my house,’” Dennings told Goldberg. “It wasn’t about being afraid of relationships or commitment. It was about needing my space and being very protective of it. I’ve always been someone who values having my own space to do what I want, without feeling like I need to compromise.”

This candid admission comes as a bit of a revelation for many fans who may have viewed Dennings as someone who was always open to the idea of romance. However, her comments shed light on the personal boundaries she set for herself when it came to sharing her living space and life with a partner. Dennings made it clear that she was content with her life as it was, without needing someone to fill the space in her home or her heart.

Her stance was a direct reflection of her belief in maintaining her own identity, even within the context of a romantic relationship. She had always placed a strong emphasis on personal growth and self-sufficiency, and this included keeping her living environment private and undisturbed. “I didn’t want to feel like I was losing myself,” Dennings added. “It was more about me wanting to make sure that I was okay, and that I could exist without feeling like I had to give something up for the relationship.”

It’s clear that her previous experience with relationships shaped her approach to her life as a single woman. In an industry where personal lives are often under public scrutiny, Dennings managed to keep her romantic life largely out of the spotlight. This independence became a cornerstone of her identity before her marriage to musician Andrew W.K. in 2021. Despite the public nature of her work, Dennings has always maintained that her private life should remain just that—private.

For Dennings, this mindset of protecting her space didn’t mean she wasn’t capable of love or commitment—it simply meant that she wanted to make sure that any relationship she entered would be built on her terms. “I think I’ve just always been really self-aware,” she reflected. “I wanted to make sure that I was not compromising too much and that I could still be my true self, no matter who I was with.”

However, despite her initial resistance to sharing her space with someone, Kat Dennings eventually met Andrew W.K., and their connection quickly blossomed into something meaningful. The couple tied the knot in a quiet ceremony in 2021, marking a new chapter in Dennings’ life. In hindsight, Dennings now admits that she has changed her perspective on having a partner in her personal space. Though she had once been adamant about her desire for solitude, she now sees the value of sharing her life with someone she truly cares for.

“It’s different now,” she explained, smiling as she talked about her marriage to Andrew. “He’s my person. And it just feels right to have him in my house.”

Dennings’ journey from a fiercely independent individual to a happily married woman is a testament to the evolution of her views on relationships and personal space. Her story also serves as a reminder that everyone has their own pace when it comes to love and commitment. For Dennings, it wasn’t about avoiding relationships but about ensuring that the right relationship—one that allowed her to keep her sense of self intact—came along.

As she continues to navigate her married life with Andrew W.K., Kat Dennings’ openness about her personal journey offers a refreshing perspective on the importance of setting boundaries in relationships. Her candid conversation with Whoopi Goldberg reflects the complexities of maintaining independence while building a life with a partner, and it’s clear that Dennings has found a balance that works for her.

As Dennings moves forward in her personal and professional life, her message resonates with many who may be hesitant about the idea of sharing their lives with someone else. It’s about finding the right time, the right person, and knowing that it’s okay to be protective of your personal space—until the right partner comes along.
