Michael Strahan playfully called out his Good Morning America co-star Robin Roberts on Thursday, October 24, 

when she seemingly tried to justify scooping up an armful of Taylor Swift merchandise. 

During the lively segment, Robin was joined by George Stephanopoulos, 

Sam Champion, and Lara Spencer as they discussed the frenzy surrounding Taylor Swift’s merchandise and the explosion of the friendship bracelet trend. 

However, what caught viewers’ attention was Robin’s enthusiastic collection of the displayed memorabilia.

As she gathered the merchandise, Robin explained, “I’ve got a lot of trading to do. It’s my goddaughter’s 16th birthday, and she wants to see Taylor.” 

Her statement, however, was met with immediate skepticism from her co-hosts. Sam and Michael weren’t convinced and wasted no time playfully calling her out on live television.

“Robin, I love how you blame your goddaughter,” Michael teased, laughing. “They’re for you! Own up to it, it’s okay—everyone loves Taylor Swift!”

Sam chimed in, jokingly adding, “You’ve already seen the Eras Tour 500 times!” while the rest of the team burst into laughter. Robin, known for her good-natured humor, smiled but didn’t exactly deny the accusation.

While Robin might not have attended the Eras Tour 500 times, she did travel to London earlier in August to catch Taylor Swift’s iconic performance at Wembley Stadium. Ahead of the concert, she shared her excitement on Instagram, posting a selfie with her wife, Amber Laign, captioned, “Headed to Wembley!” She also gave fans a peek at the dozens of friendship bracelets she had carefully crafted in preparation for the show.

Lara Spencer had attended the show once, while George Stephanopoulos reportedly saw it twice, including a recent weekend performance in Miami, Florida. George had previously revealed his admiration for Taylor on-air in July, discussing how her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, shattered records previously held by the legendary Whitney Houston, spending 12 consecutive weeks at the number one spot.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, her first tour since the Reputation stadium tour in 2018, kicked off on March 17, 2023, in Glendale, Arizona. Since then, the tour has captivated audiences across North America, Mexico, South America, Asia, Australia, and Europe. She wrapped up the European leg with five nights in London before returning to North America for additional dates in the U.S. and Canada. The grand finale of the tour is set to take place in Vancouver, Canada, in December 2024.
