Christina Fulton has officially dismissed Nicolas Cage from her lawsuit, which originally implicated both the Oscar-winning actor and their son, Weston Coppola Cage. 

The lawsuit alleged that Cage was negligent and enabled their son’s behavior, which ultimately led to an alleged violent incident involving Fulton in April 2024. 

While Cage is no longer part of the legal dispute, Fulton continues to pursue her claims against Weston.

Nicolas Cage No Longer Named in Legal Battle

According to court documents obtained by People, Fulton’s legal team filed a request on Monday to have Cage dismissed from the lawsuit. 

The judge granted the request, dismissing the claims against Cage with prejudice—meaning Fulton is legally barred from pursuing further action against him in this matter.

This development marks a turning point in the case, which initially sought to hold Cage responsible for allegedly enabling Weston’s behavior. Fulton accused Cage of failing to intervene in their son’s ongoing struggles with mental health and substance abuse, which she claims contributed to a violent altercation between her and Weston at her Los Angeles home.

While Cage has been removed from the lawsuit, Fulton, 57, remains steadfast in her case against Weston, 34. She initially filed the lawsuit in February 2024, shortly before Weston’s arrest in July for alleged assault with a deadly weapon. Fulton’s legal filings describe Weston as having a history of psychological disorders and violent behavior. She also accused him of substance abuse and previous incidents of aggression toward others.

Fulton’s lawsuit alleges that Weston physically attacked her in April 2024, leaving her with visible injuries, including a black eye. The incident was serious enough for law enforcement to intervene, with Weston reportedly named as a suspect in a battery case at the time. His subsequent arrest in July added further weight to Fulton’s claims, although he has pleaded not guilty.

Despite taking legal action against her own son, Fulton has expressed deep sadness over the situation. In a recent interview with TMZ, she stated that she felt she had no other option but to pursue the case, emphasizing that she had been left to deal with the situation alone.

“I have done this alone, been left alone … and I hold a lot of people responsible, especially the LAPD,” she said, suggesting that law enforcement had failed to take appropriate action in previous incidents involving Weston.
