with one royal expert suggesting that former U.S. President Donald Trump “won’t give up” on the matter, especially as it garners more media focus. 

This comes after a conservative think tank raised questions about whether the Duke of Sussex was unfairly granted entry into the United States back in 2020.

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, who is originally from California, made the move to the U.S. in 2020, bringing their son Archie, now five, along with them.

The Duke’s visa has been a point of contention for some, particularly following the revelations in his memoir, *Spare*, where he openly admitted to using substances such as cocaine, marijuana, and psychedelic mushrooms. 

This sparked questions from the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, about whether Harry’s past drug use might have affected his eligibility to enter the U.S.

On a recent episode of *The Sun’s Royal Exclusive*, royal reporter Bronte Coy addressed the ongoing concerns regarding Prince Harry’s visa situation. Coy noted that the renewed focus on the case is troubling, particularly because Donald Trump has been vocal about the issue in the past. “The new U.S. President has made no secret about his position on it,” Coy explained. “He’s been asked about it so many times over the years. I genuinely believe Donald Trump has much more important things to be dealing with. But it’s probably something that’s not going away, especially as it continues to get this attention.”

While the matter of Harry’s visa is primarily a legal issue, Trump’s stance on the matter adds a political layer to the debate. Coy pointed out that Trump’s involvement, or potential involvement, in the case is significant, especially considering his previous comments on the Duke. “I think that in itself will be concerning because The Heritage Foundation, who is the one pushing to have the application made public, has also lobbied and urged Donald Trump to intervene,” she said. “It has said this is about accountability and no one is above the law, which is also concerning if they maintain that level of profile on the case.”

Before the 2020 presidential election, Trump was asked about his opinion on Prince Harry’s decision to move to the U.S. and whether he would offer the Duke any protection. Trump was candid in his response, stating that he would not “protect” Harry, citing the Duke’s actions as betrayal to the late Queen Elizabeth II. “I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the [late] Queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own if it was down to me,” Trump remarked. With the issue now resurfacing, questions about Harry’s future in the U.S. persist, especially as Trump remains a prominent figure in the political landscape.

As the visa row continues to unfold, it appears unlikely to disappear anytime soon. The Heritage Foundation’s push for transparency and accountability regarding Harry’s visa application, combined with Trump’s outspoken views on the matter, suggests that the issue may continue to be a point of contention.
