Savannah Guthrie sparks departure rumors after hinting she has secured a new opportunity beyond TODAY.

Savannah Guthrie, co-anchor of the Today show, is adding another title to her growing list of accomplishments—children’s book author.

This week, she is releasing her latest book, Mostly What God Does Is Love You,

a heartfelt picture book designed to introduce children to the concept of God’s love in a gentle and reassuring way.

A Message of Love and Comfort for Children

Guthrie recently sat down with 3News’ Maureen Kyle to discuss the inspiration behind her new book.

She shared that the idea stemmed from a previous book she wrote for adults, which focused on the boundless love of God.

While working on that project, she realized how valuable it would be to share the same message with children in a way that was simple, comforting, and accessible.

“I actually immediately had this idea, this vision, that there could be a very sweet and gentle picture book that kind of lays kids down to rest with that beautiful knowledge and that foundation that though they are small and God is big, they are never too small for Him,” Guthrie explained.

Her book conveys the idea that while God holds the entire world in His hands, He also holds each child with the same level of care and affection. She hopes this message will serve as an early introduction to faith for young readers while also providing a sense of security and peace.

A Book for Children and Their Parents

Guthrie’s new book isn’t just meant for children—it’s also a reminder for parents who read to their little ones at bedtime. She understands the exhaustion that comes with parenting and hopes that the book’s themes will resonate with caregivers as well.

“I think that’s just a beautiful message, a way to introduce God to children,” she said. “I hope it’s a good reminder for parents, those weary parents, who are reading late at night with the baby in their hands and trying to get those kids to sleep, that maybe sometimes that message would resonate with them as well.”

Many parents find bedtime reading to be one of the most cherished parts of their daily routine. It’s a time when children feel safe, loved, and connected to their parents. Guthrie’s book is designed to enhance that moment by offering a reassuring message about faith, emphasizing that God’s love is ever-present and unconditional.

A Meaningful Addition to Faith-Based Children’s Literature

Faith-based books for children have long played a role in shaping young minds and hearts. Titles that introduce concepts of kindness, love, and spirituality help create a foundation for values that children carry with them as they grow. Guthrie’s book follows in the footsteps of other beloved works that gently introduce God’s presence and love in a way that feels warm and inviting.

Mostly What God Does Is Love You aims to provide that sense of security by reminding children that they are always cared for. Through simple yet profound language, Guthrie delivers a message that is easy for children to understand but powerful enough to make a lasting impact.

Savannah Guthrie’s Journey as an Author

This isn’t Guthrie’s first foray into writing. She previously co-authored Princesses Wear Pants and Princesses Save the World, two books that challenge traditional gender stereotypes and encourage young girls to be strong, independent, and fearless. Her work as an author reflects her desire to empower, educate, and inspire young readers.

With Mostly What God Does Is Love You, Guthrie takes a different approach, offering a book that focuses on faith and emotional security. It’s clear that she has a passion for storytelling, whether she’s delivering news on television or crafting meaningful books for young readers.

A Book That Parents and Children Will Treasure

As families look for books that provide messages of love, faith, and comfort, Mostly What God Does Is Love You is poised to become a favorite for bedtime reading. Guthrie’s heartfelt words and the book’s gentle illustrations make it a special addition to any child’s library.

Whether parents are introducing their children to faith for the first time or simply looking for a reassuring bedtime story, Guthrie’s new book offers a message that is both timeless and deeply meaningful.

With this release, Savannah Guthrie continues to use her platform to spread positivity, reminding children—and their parents—that love is at the heart of everything.
