SHOCKING: Kelly Ripa surprised the LIVE audience by stating she WOULD LEAVE Mark if he ever shared his location with her. What made her say that?

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have been married for nearly three decades, and the couple continues to be open about their relationship dynamics.

During the February 11 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the two discussed what they believe is the biggest “dealbreaker” in a marriage: sharing your location.

While many couples today engage in sharing their whereabouts for safety and convenience, Ripa and Consuelos firmly stand against it.

Ripa, 54, expressed her opinion with no hesitation. “No, the last thing I want to know is where you are at all times,”

she said, clarifying that she and Consuelos, 53, do not keep track of one another’s locations.

She feels secure knowing where her husband is when he’s with her, but that’s where the line is drawn. “I don’t need to know that.

I know where you are here, and that’s enough for me,” Ripa explained, stressing the importance of trust and independence in their relationship.

Consuelos, on the other hand, voiced a similar sentiment, but with a slightly different approach. “I think it’s a little weird if somebody asks you—if you’re dating and they ask you for your location,” he added. He believes that sharing your location should be voluntary, not something that needs to be constantly monitored. “It’s something that I think the person should offer to you. ‘Hey, I’m going to share my location with you,’” Consuelos said, suggesting that location sharing should come from a place of trust and mutual respect.

Ripa found herself curious about why someone would feel the need to track their partner’s every move. “Where do they think you are though? I can tell them where you are,” she remarked with a laugh. “To me, it’s a dealbreaker for me if you need to know where I am. I’m where I told you I am, and you don’t need to know anything,” she added, making it clear that in her view, such behavior is unnecessary and intrusive in a healthy relationship.

However, despite their shared resistance to location tracking, Ripa acknowledged that there are circumstances where sharing your location could be beneficial. She recounted an incident where she went hiking in Colorado by herself and got lost. “I got lost once. I was hiking [and] I got lost,” she recalled. Consuelos had warned her against going on the hike alone, and once she was lost, he suggested that she share her location with him so he could help guide her back.

This was where a generational divide came into play, Ripa explained. She was reluctant to share her location, even though Consuelos was trying to guide her to safety. “Mark was like, ‘Share your location with me and I’ll guide you home,’ but I could not do that,” she shared, describing the stressful situation. She acknowledged that it was a tense moment for both of them, but ultimately, Consuelos helped her find her way back without the use of the location-sharing feature.

While Ripa and Consuelos have been married since 1996, their relationship continues to evolve, with both partners being candid about their differences and their connection. The couple first met in 1995 when they played love interests on the soap opera All My Children. They eloped the following year, and the pair now shares three children: Michael, 27, Lola, 23, and Joaquin, 21. Their children have now left the nest, but Ripa and Consuelos continue to enjoy a strong and supportive relationship.

Ripa has often spoken about what she loves most about her marriage. “The thing I love about Mark is how funny he is,” she told Us Weekly in April 2023, when Consuelos joined her as co-host of Live. She also shared the advice she gave him when he took on the role as her co-host: “Just keep being yourself, enjoy every moment and be present.” It seems the couple’s enduring sense of humor and shared appreciation for each other’s authenticity continues to be a cornerstone of their bond.

While Ripa and Consuelos may not agree on everything, such as sharing locations, their ability to communicate openly about their boundaries and dealbreakers shows the strength of their partnership. In an age when many relationships are heavily influenced by technology, their approach serves as a reminder that mutual trust, respect, and clear communication are what truly matter in a lasting marriage.
