Longtime Today show star Al Roker recently reflected on nearly three decades of marriage with his wife, ABC journalist Deborah Roberts. 

While celebrating their 29th wedding anniversary on September 16, Roker took a lighthearted jab at himself, comparing his appearance from their wedding day to now.

and another from present times. In his caption, he jokingly questioned how his wife had agreed to marry him all those years ago.

“When you see what I looked like 29 years ago, it’s even more amazing @debrobertsabc married me. Here’s to a woman who has questionable taste and even more questionable eyesight,” he wrote.

The post was meant to be playful, but many of Roker’s fans felt the need to reassure him that he had always been more than enough—both inside and out.
